For Whom The Wedding Bell Tolls

This is the third book in the Ivy Towers Mystery series from Heartsong Presents Mysteries. I haven't been a member of Heartsong Presents Mysteries that long but this is my favorite series I've read thus far. In For Whom The Wedding Bell Tolls we find Ivy trying to get her wedding planned which she is finding hard to do so when Dela volunteers to be her wedding planner Ivy accepts. Of course, that is when things start getting a little crazy. Without giving too much away Ivy stumbles upon a dead body and now must (or at least she thinks she must) figure out who killed ______.

This was a really nice cozy mystery. Leaves you guessing until the very end. Not only will you be wondering whodunit you will also find yourself chuckling at Ivy. So I'm giving For Whom the Wedding Bell Tolls by Nancy Mehl four out of five stars.

The Restitution

I'm a little sad today because I have finished the last book in the Legacy of the King's Pirates series. I have really enjoyed this series and I hate to see it come to an end. Book Three in this series focuses on Lady Ashton and Captain Carlton. In this book we have a kidnapping, betrayal, lies, a few battles between pirate ships, forgiveness, faith, hope and love. :) I really don't want to give too much away in case someone hasn't read this series yet but I will say that this is a really good series and I highly recommend it. So with that I will give The Restitution four out of five stars. Aarrrrr, matey! :)

Reading Problem

Yes, I have a reading problem. Everything was fine until this weekend when I had trouble sleeping, had a lot of things I had to do, and then forgot my book. You see my problem is I haven't been able to find any time to read in a few days. I'm embarrassed to admit it but there you have my ugly secret. What is even more embarrassing is the fact that Saturday when I had to wait for the vet to show up (my poor kitten had a horrible case of diarrhea this weekend) I actually forgot to take my book with me!!! So I missed out on about an hour of reading time. *sigh* Then Sunday night I was so tired that I had a horrible headache so I couldn't read even though I really wanted to. Poor Lady Ashton and Captain Kent are forced to sit and wait for me to find time to get back to their story. They don't have time to wait either. I mean they have their son to find and lessons to learn. Will Lady Ashton forgive Captain Kent for what he did to her? Will they find their son? What kind of deal did Captain Kent's estranged brother make with the kidnappers?

Well, I guess the only way I will ever find out the answers to those questions is to find me some time to read...wish me luck! :)

The Shape of Mercy Blog Tour + Giveaway!

Lauren Durough is a college student longing to break free of family expectations when she stumbles into a project for eighty year old Abigail Boyles—transcribing the journals of Mercy Hayworth, a seventeenth-century victim of the Massachusetts witch trials. Almost immediately, Lauren finds herself drawn to this girl who lived and died four centuries ago. The strength of her affinity with Mercy forces Lauren to take a startling new look at her own life, including her relationships with the mysterious Abigail, her college roommate, and a young man named Raul. But on the way to discovering the candid truth, Lauren must earnestly ask if she is playing the role of helpless defendant or the misguided judge? Can she break free from her own perceptions and recognize who she really is?

In our high-pressure, success-oriented culture, readers will identify with Lauren’s struggle to forge her own identity separate from the plan her family designed for her. Offering intrigue, romance, and heartbreaking drama, this contemporary novel with a historical twist conveys the intense beauty that emerges when we see how our stories affect the lives of others.

Eyes of Elisha

I picked up this book a few years ago mainly because it was on a clearance rack for .99 cents! As a book addict when I see really cheap books I usually grab them first then read what they are about. Well, this book is I guess what you would call a legal thriller...not really my thing. So I've put off reading it but with the help of Fall Into Reading I finally got it read.

Eyes of Elisha is about this woman who gets a vision from God about a murder. When she goes to the police to tell them about it she learns that they don't have any murder investigations at the moment. So she decides to go find the body and thus the ball gets set into motion. Now keep in mind that legal thrillers really aren't my thing so to be honest it was really hard for me to get through this book. But I think if you enjoy legal thrillers then I would recommend this book because it was a good story and there were some twists that I didn't see coming. So I'm giving Eyes of Elisha three out of five stars.

One Dozen

Well, back in July our neighbor found two kittens and I took them so I could find a home for them. I tried finding them a home but didn't have any luck so now we have two new cats...making it a total of 12 cats! After I broke the news to my hubby that we have two new members in our family I quickly promised him I wouldn't adopt any more animals for 15 years and really with 12 cats and four dogs I don't need any more critters. He was actually more accepting about it then I thought he would be...thank you, Lord! My original plan was to let them be outside cats with Milo and Penny but Milo is still such a bully that I saw that wasn't going to work out so inside they came.

My other cats aren't too impressed with the newest members of our family. As with every new kitten I've introduced to my clan there is the normal hissing, growling and hiding. I'm hoping that the other cats will accept them pretty quickly but we shall see. Matthew and Luke are really sweet but they are a little unsure about all these hissing cats. So hopefully they will also warm up to the others quickly. They did make friends with some of the dogs yesterday Gracie (my shepherd) likes to smell them and lick them, Shelby wanted to play with them but they didn't like that, Angel ignored them and hopes they will ignore her while Duke acts like he would like to play with them but he's old and cranky so while he starts off playing he can quickly get snappy.

I haven't had a kitten since Bonnie and Clyde were kittens which was about two years ago...I had forgotten how much energy they have. But they are so much fun to watch when they are playing. So let's get ready to rumble!!! ;)
