I'm not sure what happened but I have been a knitting fool. So far this month I have knitted five scarves and a wrap. That has to be a record for me. I'm thinking this must be scarf month so I am going to knit up a few more scarves to put up for Christmas/Birthday presents. One scarf that I have made that is a huge hit is a scarf knitted out of the Lion Brand Trellis yarn. Well, the Trellis is more like a ribbon than an actual yarn. I made my sil one for her birthday..she loved it and so did my mom so I had to knit her one. My mom wore her scarf to work and one of the ladies that work with my mom loved it and so I knitted her one last night since I had just enough of the yarn for one more scarf. I think this has to be the first thing I've ever knitted that has become such a huge hit.
I've been looking at sweater patterns today and I'm thinking I might try and knit my first sweater sometime this year. This is a scary thought cause I've only knit scarves, dish clothes, a couple of throws, and a wrap. So basically I've only knitted square and rectangles but I would really love to try to knit a sweater so I do think I'm going to take the plunge.

2. Psych: A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Read

When I saw that a Psych book was coming out I was pretty excited. I really like the show, Psych so I was looking forward to the book. For the most part I enjoyed the book but I didn't love it. Of course, I love the Monk books but I didn't love the first book in that series either. If you like the TV show then I suggest checking out this book...Shawn and Gus are entertaining. So I'm giving Psych three out of five stars.

Been Knitting
My reading has slowed down a bit because I've been knitting a lot lately. I had wanted to see if I could read 100 books this year but with all this knitting I'm not sure I'll make it but we shall see. I'm half-way through book #2 of the year so I guess I'm not doing too bad.
I decided that I would try and knit some gifts for Christmas, of course I made that decision when I had like three weeks until Christmas. So needless to say I didn't get everything done I would have liked so I decided that I would try to knit through out the year so when Christmas comes around this year I will be ready. But I knitted two things and have already given them away so if I keep that up I won't have any Christmas presents made for Christmas. I think that will be my problem..not giving away the stuff I knit before Christmas.
What I really need to do is sit down and make a list of everyone I want to knit for and then pick out something to knit for them. Right now I do know what I'm going to knit for my sil. It's a really pretty shawl. You can check it out here. I just ordered the yarn for it, the autumn leaves color. I think she will really like it. Now I just need to figure out what to knit for my mom, mil, cousin, niece, and figure out what on earth you can knit for a man.

The Tale of Briar Bank
Just finished reading The Tale of Briar Bank which is the fifth book in The Cottage Tales Series and of course I loved it. In this book we find Beatrix Potter headed to Hill Top Farm to get away from dreary London and her parents. Once there she ends up getting caught in a blizzard which doesn't really upset Beatrix since that means she has a legitimate excuse for staying at her beloved farm longer than her mother would like. Of course, there is a lot going on in the village and as always there is a mystery that Beatrix will end up solving. This one revolves around a treasure that everyone thinks Mr. Wickstead found. Poor Mr. Wickstead gets hit on top of the head with tree, yes a tree. So as you can see there are a lot of questions that need answered. So between Beatrix and the animals the questions get answered.I just love this series. It is such a sweet and charming series and every book in the series in a winner. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series and hope you will check out these charming tales. I'm giving The Tale of Briar Bank five out of five stars.
