Universal Studios

Here are some pictures of the sights I saw on our trip to Universal Studios.  The Harry Potter area was really neat and Hogwarts looks so pretty at night.  We tried butterbeer and pumpkin juice...ick to both.  Although, people did say the butterbeer was better frozen and we didn't try it frozen.  Be sure to notice the cute little pug...he was the movie star I "met".  I think his name is Frank or it might be Fred but he was in Men In Black!  Isn't he just too cute??  We had a good time but were so tired from all the walking we did. If you ever get a chance to go to Universal Studios in Florida I highly recommend it.

LFY in Victory Heights, Washington Blog Tour & Contest

About LFY in Victory Heights, Washington:The war has stolen Rosalie’s fiancĂ©, Vic, from her forever.  But rather than wallow, Rosalie distracts herself by cramming her days full of activity—mainly by shooting rivets into the B-17 bombers that will destroy the enemy.

When a reporter dubs her “Seattle's Own Rosie the Riveter,” even more responsibility piles up. Her strong arms bear all this, but when intense feelings surface for Kenny, the handsome, kind-hearted, and spiritually unwavering reporter, the fear of losing another love propels Rosalie to leave.

It’s only when Rosalie realizes that God has brought her to this place—and this person—for a reason, the sparkling grace of God compels her to let go of her own strength and lean on His, as well as open her heart to love.

My Thoughts:
I think this is the first book I've ever read that dealt with what it was like for the women during WWII and I found it quite interesting.  I don't think I've read many books that take place during WWII and I do believe I am going to have to change that.  I have to be honest and say that LFY in Victory Heights, Washington was not really my cup of tea.  Don't get me wrong it's well written and I liked all the characters but...hmmm, how to explain.  Oh, I know...I like romance but I like it more on the side while the romance in this book was pretty much the main course.  Does that make sense?  When the romance is the main course I sometimes find the book boring and that's what happened with this book.  So if you love a good romance then I do recommend this book and like I said I really found it interesting what the women did while most of the men were off  at war.

Back to Work

Hello, everyone! :)  If you are wondering where I've been I have been in Florida walking miles and miles at Universal Studios.  We all had lots of fun but it is nice to be home although I think I could use a vacation from my vacation! ;)  I'll post some pictures from my trip later on.  We got to see the new Harry Potter area they have and it was so neat, we also got to meet a movie star...he's very cute and I will share who he was later on.  I guess I should get back to work but be on the look out for some pictures from my trip. :)

My Thoughts:
I love Melody Carlson, she's one of my favorite authors. This is the first time I've read any of her YA books though and to me it was okay but not great.  I think that its due to the fact that I'm not a YA.  Premiere is the first book in the On The Runway Series.  It's about two sisters, one is into fashion the other isn't, one is a believer the other isn't and they don't always get along.  Overall I did enjoy reading about Paige and Erin and their journey into reality TV and I do think teens will enjoy this series.
