Just wanted to share with y'all this book, A Critical Loss of Balance by Mark Shaver, that sounds really good. So check it out and see what you think.
ABOUT THE BOOK
The city was in crisis. Fear had gripped the population as a serial kidnapper preyed on the children of the city’s wealthiest families, striking quick and collecting ransoms without leaving a trace of evidence. Despite the best efforts of law enforcement, their methods remained flawless and their crimes were perfect. No one knew who they were or how to stop them, so the kidnappings went on, and on. They were the lead story on the front page every morning when Cliff Elliott read the newspaper; another kidnapping, another ransom and another family torn apart.
As heartbreaking and unsettling as Cliff considered the kidnappings to be, his financial lot in life kept him from worrying too much about his own daughter being kidnapped. His feet were planted firmly in a middle class neighborhood and his lifestyle reflected it. No; his daughter would never be a target. Sadly he was wrong; very wrong. He realized it the day his daughter was kidnapped. Her kidnapping however was different from all the others. There was no contact made by the kidnappers. No communication at all was attempted and no ransom was demanded. She was just…gone.
Cliff lost more than his daughter that day. He didn’t realize it until he came face to face with the tragic turn of events that led to her return. At that point there was no escaping it. Everything in his life felt wrong. His entire being was painfully out of balance; a balance that only one thing could restore. Cliff knew what that one thing was. There was only one question he had to answer; was he capable of doing it?
Sounds good, doesn't it? If you would like to get it then just go here. It's currently available at the special promotional price of 12.99 & 3.99 for the digital download! All you have to do is type the word "BALANCE" into the discount code box.

Are You Ready??
The final Harry Potter movie has finally come out and I'm so excited. I just finished re-reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and have rented the first part of the movie. Plan on watching it Saturday night and then Sunday I'm dragging my hubby to see part two. So is anyone else looking forward to this movie?

Teaser Tuesday
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I decided to reread Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to get ready for this weekend. :D
"She released Harry, leaned over the banister, and screamed, "Ron! RON! Get up here, quick!"
Ron appeared, panting, a minute later, his wand ready in his hand."

By Darkness Hid by Jill Williamson
From Goodreads:Half of Er’Rets is locked beneath an impenetrable shroud. On the side that still sees the sun, two young people struggle to understand the mind-communication abilities thrust upon them.
It's called bloodvoicing. Some say it's a gift. One of the newly "gifted" wish it had never come.
Achan has been a slave all his life. Worse than a slave—a stray. He is consigned to the kitchens of a lord and forced to swallow a foul potion every day. When an enigmatic knight offers to train Achan for the Kingsguard, he readily accepts. But his new skills with the sword do not prepare him for the battle raging between the voices in his head.
Vrell Sparrow is not who she seems. She masquerades as a boy to avoid capture by the powerful forces that seek to exploit her. But Vrell feels called to help a young squire who recently discovered his bloodvoicing gift, even if doing so requires her to work with those who could destroy her.
While Achan learns to use his new ability, Vrell struggles to shut hers down. All the voices strive to learn Achan and Vrell's true identities—and a different kind of voice is calling them both.
Toward a destination that is by darkness hid.
My Thoughts:
I bought this book after having read a review about it on the internet. I'm so glad I did too! By Darkness Hid is a fast paced adventure that is the first book in the Blood of Kings series. We meet Achan and Vrell, two very different people who are about to cross paths, each with their secrets. Ahcan is a stray who works in the kitchen until a strange Knight takes an interest in him. Vrell is in hiding, disguised as a boy, when two strange knights show up demanding she come with them. Don't want to give anything away so won't say much more except I really enjoyed this book and was so glad I had book 2, To Darkness Fled, already. If you are thinking, "Hmmm, this sounds like a good book..." Then head on over to Amazon because the Kindle book is only 3.99!
Happy Reading!!

Knitted Earrings!
I was looking around on some knitting sites and found a pattern where you knit with wire and beads to make earrings. Since it didn't sound to hard I thought I would give it a try and after practicing with the wire for a while I knitted these earrings. Pretty neat, huh? You can find the pattern I used here.
